James A. Schoephoerster

James A. Schoephoerster, 82, a long-time Janesville resident died Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at St. Mary’s Janesville Hospital. He was born on December 7, 1930 at Whitewater, the son of Albert and Bernita (Barth) Schoephoerster. He married Dorothy Swisher on January 19, 1957 at First English Lutheran Church in Whitewater. James retired from the paint department at Stoughton Trailers. He was a member of First Christian Church, Janesville. He had been active as a Boy Scout leader. James enjoyed watching baseball and had a real love for his church. For the past 6 years, he resided at the Heartwarming House in Milton.
Survivors include 2 sisters, Betty Swisher, Shirley (August) Butler as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, on March 6, 2007. His parents and 1 sister, Carol Butts also preceded him in death.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 23,2013 at Milton Lawns Memorial Park Chapel, 2200 Milton Avenue, Janesville. Pastor Dee Ann Woods will officiate. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church. Henke-Clarson Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements
